Air treatment

The goal? Zero nuisance for local residents

The foul air produced in the treatment of wastewater and sludge is continually collected in installations at the plant.

The foul air produced in the buildings which house the biological treatment and sludge treatment facilities undergoes biological treatment.

The foul air produced in the buildings which house the pre-treatment and wet weather treatment facilities undergoes chemical treatment.

The purified air is then released into the atmosphere.

The deodorisation units treat 466,000 m³ of foul air per hour. That is equivalent to filling a 96 metre diameter balloon every hour.
